On February 19, 1942, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 that led to the forced removal of more than 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry to US concentration camps located in some of the most desolate areas of the country. Along with a brief history of the incarceration, the program will focus on the role of women who were imprisoned and how they coped as well as current day events that mirror the past. Please join us to learn about this historic event that has so much relevance to the present day.

Begins with an introduction to our seven UU principles.” -Rev. Dr. Richard S. Gilbert, Course Author”.
