Kelly Dignan by the same name. Class One will focus on the History of Covenant in Unitarian Universalism. Other News and Reminders Everyone please sign up NOW for our Cottage Meetings: Our church is extremely blessed to be able to work with the Rev Jeanelyse Doran Adams, a UUA Congregational Life Consultant who specializes in helping churches become vibrant, mission-driven communities. She has trained a team of facilitators at UUCG who are now in the process of holding cottage meetings for ALL members/friends to share their longings/desires/hopes/dreams for this congregation. Our collective voice is strongest and most representative when EACH and EVERY ONE of us is able to share! Come tell us your heart's desires for this congregation. The information from this Listening Campaign will be used to discern a path forward. Please participate in our Discernment/Discovery Process! What you think matters!The questions you will be answering during the Cottage Meetings include: 1. Connect to a time you were passionate, connected, inspired or alive in the congregation. One where you felt really moved, or that was particularly memorable. What was happening, who was there, how did you feel, what was memorable? What do you value most about that experience? 2. What are your personal longings or desires for the UU Church of Greeley? How could you imagine being fulfilled by helping to make that happen? 3. Imagine a time 3-5 years from now when our congregation is coming together to celebrate. We are celebrating the fulfillment of dreams that originally began during this current time, maybe even in these meetings. What might we be celebrating? Who would benefit from the fulfillment of these dreams? Sign up sheet is in front of the name tags in our church foyer. Our planning for the upcoming year is determined by total pledges received. Please help us plan to fulfill our collective heart's desires! Our goal is $59,500 in pledges. Diana's Travel Schedule Many of you know already that our Ministerial Resident, Diana McLean, will be traveling to the Unitarian Universalist Association Headquarters in Boston later this week for her appointment with the Ministerial Fellowship Committee. She will be in Boston from Thursday, April 7 through Sunday, April 10th. All three members of our Greeley-Foothills ministerial team (Diana, Rev. Gretchen Haley, and Rev. Howell Lind) will be attending the Mountain Desert District's ministerial retreat in Santa Fe next week. Diana will be there from Tuesday, April 12 to Friday, April 15th. She will resume her normal office hours on Tuesday, April 19th. During both of these trips, Diana will have limited access to email. She will be reachable by cell phone during most of the time she is away, in case of emergency, and will respond to non-emergency messages upon her return. Judith Meyers remains in our local hospital under the care of Hospice. She is on the 5th floor in room C-545. Her spirits are good and she enjoys visitors. Liza is meeting with home care providers over the next few days to make plans to move her home within the next couple of weeks. We, her church family, hold her in our hearts and send positive thoughts her way. A Note from Membership Ministry and Treasurer Dear friends, This is just a note to clarify that according to our bylaws, to be a member of UUCG one must sign the membership book and pledge monetarily each year. Non-members are no less welcome here, but there are a few privileges reserved for membership under our bylaws. Membership allows one to vote at the annual Congregational Meeting each spring, and at other times that a vote of the membership is required; to recieve the UU World Magazine; to be chairperson of a ministry group; and/or to serve on the Board. If you have signed the membership book in a previous year but are not currently pledging, you are a treasured friend, but not a member. If you'd like to be a current member but the financial component is a hardship, please contact Ministerial Resident Diana McLean to discuss options. Foothills is offering an Enneagram class that they would like to invite many from the community to attend! This class will be taught by Rev. Holly Heuer- adjunct facult at Iliff School of Theology. Sylvia Falconer of collages and a few paintings entitled "All Women plus a few Men". All of these pieces except one are for sale. All work must remain up until the end of the exhibit which will be April 25. Hope you enjoy the show! UUCG Pagan Circle The UUCG Pagans group invites you to celebrate Beltane with us! Sunday May 1st at Glenmere Park. We will start setting up around 12 noon with a short ritual, food drink, music, and merriment to follow around 1. This is a family friendly event. It is a wonderful community event to raise funds for the American Cancer Association. It is also a wonderful way to deepen our presence in our community. I do, and I’d love for you to join me for the Western Unitarian Universalist Life Festival aka WUULF, at the Ghost Ranch in beautiful northern New Mexico, June 20-26. The theme for this year is “Fun, Facts and Faith.” We will have three theme speakers: Camilla Dodson, the daughter of a Lesotho chief will bring the Fun; Sherry Burr, an expert on international law will bring the facts; and Nathan Mesnikoff, UU minister and director of spiritual care and volunteer services at Memorial Hospital, will bring the faith In addition to the theme speakers, our own WUULFies offer plenty of fun, crafty, educational, and thoughtful workshops. We gather every morning for spiritual centering with our camp minister, Beth Chronister, and again in the afternoon for social hour where we share fellowship over food and spirits of the liquid kind. Throughout the day, you can choose to attend workshops, hike the epic landscape of Ghost Ranch, or just kick back under the Wisdom Tree. We will play games, tell stories, tie dye, drum, dance and sing throughout the week. If you have school age kids, WUULF is a fantastic opportunity to spend time as a family, and also enjoy some grown-up time while the young ones are in their own programs.
