December 28th- January 3rd Saturday, January 2nd-Citizen's Climate Lobby 11am Sunday, January 3rd- Our Rewarding Legacy- Rev. Howell Lind This service's message will focus on how both of our Unitarian and Universalist roots fought resistance throughout our early formative history to present a rational liberal approach to religion. RE: Children's Chapel with Mitchell with a story in the sanctuary first! Other News and Reminders Guest at Your Table Continues... Early January 2016 will be the time for gathering in your contributions for UUSC's Guest at Your Table project. I hope you have enjoyed getting acquainted with the people around the world that UUSC helps and the programs they run to do that. I have always been fascinated by the story of how UUSC got started before World War II and how they had designed the flaming chalice image using it to "light the way for refugees" fleeing Nazism. We are uniquely honored this year, the 75th anniversary of UUSC's founding, to have two of our "guests" be direct beneficiaries of their help. These two as children were part of a 1940 transport from Vichy France via Lisbon Portugal to safety and a new life in America. Their story is in the brochure. So, in the first few weeks of January 2016 we will gather in the money you have collected and send them in to the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee helping them with their continuing work for human rights and social justice. Don't let the light go out! Keep the chalice burning! - Judy Meyers, UUSC Local Rep! New Directory: You can access our new directory from the website in the for members section. We are not printing large numbers of the directory so that we can continually update the information and save a few trees. If you cannot access the directory this way and would like a printed copy, please send a request to office_manager@greeleyuuc.org Place a Service Snowflake on the Task Tree Please notice the task tree on the divider by the sound booth. Please put your name on a leaf indicating where you would like to help. There are also leaves with no task. If there is something you'd like to do, but don't see that particular task, please write your name and the task that you would like to share. We thank you for your gifts of your time.
