Other News and Reminders
Free to Good Homes
Building and Grounds Ministry has the following items to offer to a good home.
- 42 tan metal folding chairs
Any or all of these chairs can be yours if you arrange with Shelley Gotchey (firstname.lastname@example.org or 970.356.3562) to pick them up by December 20.
We are looking for more greeters to welcome members on Sunday mornings.
You will be able to direct newcomers to the Newcomer Cafe table which will be staffed by others. Really, all you have to do is offer regular attendees their name tag and an order of service. Please email Danelle Beauvais email@example.com
Save the Date: Christmas Eve Service will be December 24 at 7:00 pm. (Not 4pm as originally planned- due to too many people working on Christmas Eve) It will include the children and youth, and we will celebrate our belief: every night a child is born is a holy night
Christmas Tree Wishes- our annual Christmas giving.
Sign up with Marcia Free (see her in the Sanctuary after the Service) to pick out a gift you are willing to donate.
We will be giving gifts to our family, Catalina and her daughter, Lisbeth and to SEVA. The books or stuffed animals for SEVA need to be brought back to the church on Dec. 14th.
This gift will be given to a child involved in the SEVA community. SEVA is a local group of (mostly) retired teachers who work with young parents and their children. The primary focus of SEVA is to foster early literacy skills.
Multiple books and stuffed animals will be given to local children at the Children's Fiesta held on December 20th at the Rodarte Center. Your donations will help ensure that each child attending receives a literacy gift bag.
The following gifts would be greatly appreciated (in multiple quantities).
* board book for a baby (such as Goodnight Moon, Pat the Bunny, any of the Baby Einstein touch and feel books)
* book for a toddler (such as the Dr. Seuss books, rhythmic books, simple story books)
* stuffed animal or hand puppet for baby
* stuffed animal or hand puppet for toddler
* holiday gift bag for a book and stuffed animal
At the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley, we strive to grow spiritually, live meaningfully, and help heal the world. The Committee on Shared Ministry is responsible for taking the pulse of how our ministries are fulfilling that purpose. We also assess the spiritual health of the congregation. In order to do so, we will be conducting a "Heartbeat Survey." At church on December 7, 14 and 21, we will distribute a survey that includes five short questions. We ask that you complete the survey once sometime during those three weeks. If for some reason you are not able to attend church on at least one of those days, email us so that we can get you a copy of the survey. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Results of the survey will be shared in the January newsletter.
Thanks in advance, Your Committee on Shared Ministry: Shelley Gotchey, Jim Shearer, Shaileen Snider.
