RE: Children's Chapel on Liberation Other News and Reminders Fulfilling Our Hearts Desires, with Family, Food & Friendship! Please join us on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 5:00pm as we kick off our annual pledge canvass. We are asking that everyone bring one of your family's favorite or special foods to our potluck. Be prepared to tell the story of why this food is important in your family. Maybe there's a simple reason? Or does it relate to your heritage? Did this item originate with one special person in the family? Who taught you to make it and when? Is it eaten at a special time of year? Let's connect heart-to-heart with church friends around the potluck table by telling our family stories! Afterward, we'll have some fun playing UU Jeopardy, and build on our spring theme of our Hearts' Desires for UUCG, discussing ways we can FULFILL Our Hearts' Desires! This will be a child-friendly event. Place a Service Snowflake on the Task Tree: Please notice the task tree on the divider by the sound booth. Please put your name on a snowflake indicating where you would like to help. There are also snowflakes with no task. If there is something you'd like to do, but don't see that particular task, please write your name and the task that you would like to share. We thank you for your gifts of your time. We cannot run the church without you. Hi to my UU Church of Greeley friends: This March 20-28 I'll be in Greece helping refugees, through Carry the Future. Carry the Future is a grassroots movement where volunteers personally distribute wearable baby carriers to refugee families fleeing violence, oppression and persecution. Refugee families travel on foot across Europe holding babies and small children in their arms and baby carriers not only keep these babies safe, warm and united with their parents, but also help ease their journey by freeing parent's hands to carry their belongings. Carry the Future covers the costs of food and lodging for volunteers but requests that volunteers pay for their own airfare. This is the first volunteer trip I've taken where I've needed to ask for help...the airfare is much greater than I anticipated. If you'd be willing to give a little bit of money to help me make a difference in Europe, please check out the link below. And/or - if you have airline rewards miles or gently used/new baby carriers to donate, please contact me. Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate your support!
