Our Optimistic Faith- Ruth Rinehart
The Rev. James Freeman Clarke, in 1886, proclaimed Unitarianism an optimistic theology, which included "the progress of [hu]mankind, onward and upward forever."  Do we believe this?  In the midst of climate chaos and the unspeakable brutality humans are capable of inflicting upon one another, what are our sources of hope?  Ruth is a student for the Unitarian Universalist ministry at Iliff School of Theology

Proposal for a PFLAG Chapter in Greeley
When someone you care about announces to you that they are, or think may be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, knowing how to respond to them can be confusing.
PFLAG is a national organization providing information and support for families, friends and allies of LGBTQ persons. There is a group proposing opening an official PFLAG chapter in Greeley in early 2015.
There will be an exploratory meeting to consider an emergent PFLAG chapter formation in Greeley to be held on Saturday, January 24th at 10 a.m. at First Congregational Church, located on 16th Street, just west of the Northern Colorado Medical Center.
For more information, contact Laura at 970-673-7674 or
pflaggreeley@gmail.com. Please note that support services will not be offered at this meeting

Let’s Create Some Magic! That’s the theme for our pledge canvass this year. Not sure what a pledge canvass is? It’s the process we go through to raise money for our church

  • February 1, 2015
    Budget Forum
Please attend a 30-minute Budget Forum starting at 11:20 (after coffee hour) on February 1.  The Finance Ministry Group will present the Program Budget for net fiscal year (how expenses are allocated across the programs we offer). This is an important meeting, so please plan to stay.  Childcare will be provided.

  • February 7th will be our annual canvass party. You’ll receive an official invitation closer to the time, but save the evening on your calendar. Be thinking about a costume you can wear (optional). And if you want to donate a pot of chili, think about how you might name it. (Yes - the chili competition lives on this year - with two prizes based on taste and name!) If you want to donate a pot of chili, contact Hollis Berendt hollisbeth28@gmail.com or Danelle Beauvais daughterofavalon@msn.com

Harry Potter finds a loving community at Hogwarts - a community that isn't his biological family, but one that has his back in every way. Through classes and experiences at Hogwarts, Harry is transformed and able to transcend the difficulties life presents.
Does that sound familiar? Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley does the same for us! As an
expression of our gratitude for this community that has our back and helps us transform, let’s create some magic!
