Other News and Reminders

UUCG Members:
At the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley, we strive to grow spiritually, live meaningfully, and help heal the world. The Committee on Shared Ministry is responsible for taking the pulse of how our ministries are fulfilling that purpose. We also assess the spiritual health of the congregation.  In order to do so, we will be conducting a "Heartbeat Survey."  At church on January 10, 17, and 24 we will distribute a survey that includes five short questions.  We ask that you complete the survey one time sometime during those three weeks.  If for some reason you are not able to attend church on at least one of those days, email or phone us so that we can get the survey to you.  (ssgotchey@comcast.net or 970.356.3562)   Results of the survey will be shared in February.
                                                                                           The Committee on Shared Ministry:

The Chalice still burns, "Gathering In" for GAUT
Early January will be the time for Gathering In your contributions for UUSC's Guest at Your Table project. I hope that you have enjoyed getting acquainted with the people around the world that UUSC helps and the programs they run.
I have always been fascinated by how UUSC gt started before WWII and how they had designed the flaming chalice image to light refugees from Nazism to help them to freedom.
The chalice still burns in UU Churches across North America and further still carrying on the work of support for human rights and social justice and responding to disasters, at present the refugee disaster.
We are uniquely honored this year to have two guests who as children were part of a 1940 Transport from Vichy, France via Lisbon,Portugal to safety in America.
In January 2016 you need to do two things:
  1. Fill out the form on the back of the box or the form in the brochure.
  2. Write a check for the amount you've collected or the amount you have decided to contribute to UUSC. Make your check payable to UUCG and note in the memo line that it is for Guest at Your table. Put your check, along with the form, in the collection basket. Our Treasurer Bill Gotchey will combine the checks and write a single check for UUSC.
If you prefer you can just mail your check and the form directly to UUSC. Directions for this are in the brochure.

Thanks so much for keeping the chalice burning!

New Directory:
You can access our new directory from the website in the for members section.  We are not printing large numbers of the directory so that we can continually update the information and save a few trees.  If you cannot access the directory this way and would like a printed copy, please send a request to office_manager@greeleyuuc.org

Place a Service Snowflake on the Task Tree
Please notice the task tree on the divider by the sound booth. Please put your name on a leaf indicating where you would like to help.  There are also leaves with no task.  If there is something you'd like to do, but don't see that particular task, please write your name and the task that you would like to share.  We thank you for your gifts of your time.  We cannot run the church with out you.
