What's happening at the UUCG?
January 30th-February 5th Sunday, February 5th- Universalism. God is Love.- Rev. Barry Bloom There were profound differences between Unitarianism and Universalism in the 19th Century, when both grew into strong, nationwide, separate denominations. The Universalists were focused on the love of God being the basis for Universal salvation. A loving God would never condemn anyone to hell, they believed. And that upset a lot more people than you would think. We will explore the Unitarians on February 19th. RE: Chapel on the theme of Identity Sunday, February 5th- Congregational Workshop 12pm “Communication skills that create connection in a spiritual community.” Open to everyone, this program, in the RE room, will identify what works to promote connection and meaning within a spiritual community. It is a beginning to assist in leading us to greater unity and connection in our unfolding future as a church community. As well as an aid to each of us working to create connection within our circle of family and loved ones. The program will be led by Rev Barry Bloom. Prior to the class, there will be a potluck. Please bring your favorite dish to share and a place setting. Grocery Certificate Volunteers Needed! Due to a change in family life Rosemary Edmiston must relinquish her duties as a grocery certificate volunteer and Hollis Berendt wishes to spend more time with her family- thus it is time for a personnel change. We are hopeful that several will volunteer creating a team of volunteers with a coordinator so that the duties will not fall on one or two people all of the time. The coordinator or at least one volunteer should have access to a computer. The grocery certificate service provides added revenue for the church, and works closely with the UUCG Treasurer and Board. Volunteers need to contact Rosemary, Hollis, Erika Coan or Reverend Barry Bloom. How can I contact Rev. Barry Bloom? If you need to get into contact with Rev. Barry Bloom please email him at revbarrybloom@gmail.com or call him at 303-273-9908. Meghan Groves, our office manager and child care provider, is leaving us at the end of February. She has been with us for a couple years, providing consistent and competent support. We would like to send her off with a goodbye gift. If you would like to donate, please contact Josette at josetteschaffer@msn.com If you have an announcement you would like to see in our weekly announcements please email Meghan at office_manager@greeleyuuc.org by 10 am on the Tuesday you wish to see the announcement in!
