Sunday, November 20th- The Thanksgiving Story: A Native Perspective- Rev. Barry Bloom
When the Pilgrims reached Cape Cod and Plymouth in 1620, they had a mixed welcome. Hostile on the Cape, friendly at Pawtuxet, the native name for what is now Plymouth. There the Wampanoags supported them, especially Squanto (Tisquantum) who, literally, saved the colony. A story that teaches us about giving.

Other News and Reminders

Grocery Certificate Volunteers Needed!
Due to a change in family life Rosemary Edmiston must relinquish her duties as a grocery certificate volunteer and Hollis Berendt wishes to spend more time with her family- thus it is time for a personnel change.
We are hopeful that several will volunteer creating a team of volunteers with a coordinator so that the duties will not fall on one or two people all of the time. The coordinator or at least one volunteer should have access to a computer.
The grocery certificate service provides added revenue for the church, and works closely with the UUCG Treasurer and Board.
Volunteers need to contact Rosemary, Hollis, Erika Coan or Reverend Barry Bloom.

Lutheran Family Services is having a Coat Drive from October 24th-December 16th! Please donate your unwanted winter coats and help refugee families to stay warm! Please drop off your donations at the LFS Refugee and Asylee Office! Click HERE for the official flyer!
