What's happening at the UUCG?
November 28th- December 4th Sunday, December 4th- The Presence of Perceived Evil- Rev. Barry Bloom The key word in the title is perceived. Can we describe life as black and white, good or evil? Or is "truth" more evasive, more nuanced, more subjective? It is timely that we consider this so soon after the election in which black/white, good/evil were on such display. RE: Class on Horace Greeley Other News and Reminders Ornament Making and Cookie Decorating Party Saturday, December 10 from 2:30- 4pm! Drop in for all ages, all abilities. If you can bring six sugar cookies already baked, we will have all other supplies. Let's have some fun together! Questions? Call Kathy Vaughn. Social Change Ministry Please join us for a very important meeting of the Social Change Ministry Circle on December 13th at 11:30am. Reverend Bloom will be joining us to facilitate discussion of our vision, hopes and plans for the group in 2017. Come and share your thoughts and ideas. All are welcome. Our faith calls for us to be agents for social change so come reflect and connect to that which is larger than ourselves and calls us to partner to create the Beloved Community. Our UU Church of Greeley is providing a religious home for the Iglesia Apostolica De La Fe En Cristo Jesus Church. They hold their services on Friday evenings at 7:00pm and on Sundays at 1:00. This is a win-win for all involved. They have a place to meet and we get some income from rent. This does not exclude us from using the church during these times, we just need to give them an advanced notice that we need the church. Cooperation and sharing in our interconnected world! Buy Gift Cards for Holiday Gifts Last chance for simple shopping and supporting the church at the same time. Bring your checkbook or cash and order on Sunday December 4th. Click HERE for the order forms. LAST CHANCE! Order before it's too late! Grocery Certificate Volunteers Needed! Due to a change in family life Rosemary Edmiston must relinquish her duties as a grocery certificate volunteer and Hollis Berendt wishes to spend more time with her family- thus it is time for a personnel change. We are hopeful that several will volunteer creating a team of volunteers with a coordinator so that the duties will not fall on one or two people all of the time. The coordinator or at least one volunteer should have access to a computer. The grocery certificate service provides added revenue for the church, and works closely with the UUCG Treasurer and Board. Volunteers need to contact Rosemary, Hollis, Erika Coan or Reverend Barry Bloom. Lutheran Family Services is having a Coat Drive from October 24th-December 16th! Please donate your unwanted winter coats and help refugee families to stay warm! Please drop off your donations at the LFS Refugee and Asylee Office! Click HERE for the official flyer! UU Evening Brewery Fun is Back! Join us to meet and mingle with friends while checking out the local breweries in town. Beer, craft root beer, and other non-alcoholic drinks are available for purchase. These will be family friendly events with board games/bean bag toss, snacks and root-beer floats for the kids!
