Sunday, September 18th- Love. The Prime Resistance to Hate-
Rev. Barry Bloom

How do we resist violence and the hateful actions of others? When we react in kind, we have been successfully recruited to be "a part of the problem." Violence and hate beget violence and hate. The only real choice we have, as religious people, was handed down from over two thousand years ago. Love our neighbors as ourselves. Turn the other cheek. As UU's, how do we practice such difficult actions and remain true to our principles?
RE:Class #1 Covenant and famous UU, PT Barnum

Share the Plate with Standing Rock/Dakota Access Pipeline
Land has been taken and treaties broken. The Social Change Ministry has voted that we share our plate with the protectors of water and land at the Standing Rock/Dakota Access Pipeline. Please write a check to UUCG with Standing Rock on the memo, or bring cash. Also being collected are sleeping bags, blankets, food, winter survival gear, hand warmers, and personal hygiene items. Items will be taken to Al Frente de Lucha Sunday afternoon where they are attempting to fill a truck to take to Standing Rock.

Native American Nations have joined hands together to peacefully "protect all children of God... have a right to clean water, and that is what this fight is about...recognizing that water is life."
