RE: Principal #4 – Horton Hears a Who Sunday April 29th - Klezmer Band Concert and Lecture at 1:00, at UUCG The entire genre of Klezmer music was nearly wiped out during the Holocaust, but has seen a major revival in recent years. Join Sam Henline's group Shmuel and the Mentshn for an afternoon concert and lecture about music by Jewish composers who died during the Holocaust and other marginalized groups who were almost erased from history by the Nazi regime. Featuring a selection from Dimitri Shostakovich's seventh symphony. Invite your friends! Volunteers Needed to Help with Klezmer Concert Reception Please contact Hollis or Margaret, or sign up on the clipboard, to help with the reception for the Klezmer Band Concert. We need volunteers to provide a cheese platter, fruit platter, cookies, nuts, etc. We also need volunteers to help set up the reception and clean up after the reception. Thank you! ISAAC - Interfaith Sanctuary and Accompaniment Coalition Of Larimer and Weld Counties Please join us for a large group gathering as we welcome Jordan Garcia, the Ally Coordinator at the American Friends Service Committee in Denver. Jordan will be presenting a workshop on how we can be more effective allies and partners in our work to promote fairness, compassion and safety for our immigrant brothers and sisters. We will also be hearing from PSD high school students who are hoping to attend the eight day program of the National Hispanic Institute at CSU this fall. And ISAAC’s steering committee will be updating us all on the happenings of the last year, what’s been going on behind the scenes, and our goals for the rest of 2018. ALL ARE WELCOME! Thank you! Spring Clean Up Come join us for our annual Spring Clean Up! There is plenty to do to help keep our church in great condition. Saturday, May 5th, 9 am - Noon. Doughnuts and Coffee provided! The Social Justice Circle Social Justice circle meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Next Meeting isMay 8th, at 9:30 am. The Bare Necessities Project continues, we are collecting easy to carry, non-perishable healthy food for the Homeless. For example: Nuts, crackers with cheese or peanut butter, dried fruit, granola bars, noodles, beef jerky, tuna or chicken in pop tops or pouches, water, and cleansing wipes. Thank you for your contributions! Choir Choir practices the 1st and 2nd Sundays of Every Month, after service, and perform on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
