What's happening at the UUCG?
August 6th- August 12th, 2019 Worship this week Sunday, August 11th, 2019 Good Job, Better People by Rev. Aaron Norris. This months theme is dedicated to labor. Pathways to Meaning & Membership Class This class is designed to go over some of the basic history of Unitarian Universalism. It also helps you to better understand our congregation and see how you my deepen your involvement. It also is a great opportunity to meet others who are new to our church as well, but also have an interest in becoming more involved. While it is not required for membership, I highly recommend that you participate in this class as a first step to considering membership. The class is offered about once every six weeks or so and taught by our minister, Reverend Aaron Norris. The class takes about 90 minutes and follows a service. Class Dates are as Follows: August 11th, 2019. Their last meeting will be August 11th, 2019. Community Events Later This Month Buddhist and Meditation classes at UU Church of Greeley Held at Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley, 929 15th St, Greeley, CO 80631 the Second Tuesday of each month. Buddhist Class - August 13, 1:30 pm. Meditation - August 13, 2:30 pm.Topic for August, Bodhicitta and Compassion. Reading - the Metta Sutra, page 97-98, the Mangala Sutra, page 98-99. Remaining classes: September 10, October 8, November 12. Fermenting Spiritually Our monthly drop in 'spiritual symposium' is on Monday August 12th. We will focus on our monthly theme of Regeneration. Again this month we will meet at High Brau Tap House, 915 16th Street, Greeley at 6:00 pm. The discussions usually last about an hour and a half or a bit more. Other News and Reminders Social Justice Group Social Justice meetings will resume in September due to members being out of town. Social Justice Ministry meetings will be held on the third Monday of the month at 11:00 am. The next meeting is September 16th. Please come and help plan our future projects. Strawberry plants, raspberry bushes, garlic and oregano from our garden. You can dig what you'd like, or if you're physically unable to dig, Tim will dig it for you. Please donate clean and wearable items. We except all types of clothing for all ages to be donated to the Greeley Interfaith Clothing Bank. We are also looking for business attire for women including, dresses, suits, slacks, shoes, purses and jewelry to donate to Leanna’s Closet. Please bring your items to church and deposit in the box provided. Thank you for you generous donations. Social Justice Ministry Choir News Renee returns this month which means choir practice will also return this month, August 2019. Looking for way to contribute to UUCG on Sundays?
