Dec. 25th - Dec. 31st, 2018 Social Justice In December we will collect socks, mittens, gloves, and scarves to donate. We will post events happening in the community pertaining to immigration, environment and other Social Justice Issues. We are also looking forward to a new project, hosting “Help with Health Care Forums” where we will invite members and the community to learn about accessing health care. For any questions please contact Ana Schultz @ ana.schultz@yahoo.com Sunday, December 30th – “One Word – Let’s Do It Again” - Julie Miller It's time again to focus on our "One Word" for the New Year. For those of you who participated last year, how has your one word guided you in the last year. A New Year doesn't have to be about a resolution, it can be simply about one word - one simple word of focus for your new year that lay ahead. Come join us as we find our new word and reflect on the days gone by and look toward tomorrow and what you may want to achieve in this our upcoming one more circle round the sun. RE: Play Day Coffee Help Romy Miller has volunteered to be in charge of coffee on the off weeks when Rev. Aaron is not there. It would be appreciated if we could have a volunteer to bring cookies on Dec. 30th. Please email or call Dianne Culver at ajculver3@gmail.com or 970-378-7544 if you are available. Thanks in advance! Offering Our Plate (Living Generously) Share the Plate recipient for December 30th: Holocaust Memorial Observance. Anti-Semitic Incidents surged nearly 60% in 2017 from 2016. Because of this increase in hate, it is more important than ever that The Holocaust Memorial Observance be provided to our community. This week long annual event reminds us and teaches our youth about this horrific event that wiped out an entire generation of human beings throughout Europe. Your donations help bring and house a survivor to Greeley, provide books to youth, provide teacher education, pay for musicians, films, venues, brochures, advertising etc. It is the hope of the Holocaust Memorial Observances Committee of Greeley & Northern Colorado that the values these programs instill across the age spectrum, diverse religious groups, give members of our community the courage, where it might otherwise be lacking, to counteract hate, bigotry, and prejudice whenever and wherever they encounter it. .**Now that the nomination process has begun, we hope members will consider making a nomination. Using our plate in this way will help us to grow of spiritual practice, live more meaningfully, and help heal our world. Look for the colorful box that Sharlene Meydel decorated in the Foyer to make your suggestion! (must meet criteria) Other News and Reminders Women's March in Greeley at Lincoln Park Saturday January 19th at 10:00am. Meet at the UUCG at 9:30a if you'd like to carpool.
