Japanese Day of Remembrance
On February 19, 1942, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 that led to the forced removal of more 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry to US concentration camps located in some of the most desolate areas of the country. Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) will host Marge Tanawaki who will tell of the experiences of those in Japanese Interment camps during WWII. Please join us on Thursday February 21 11:30 am at Joe Molina's Gallery at 930 8th Ave. You are welcome to bring your own lunch. Cookies and coffee will be provided.
The month’s display of Tibetan Buddhist artwork in the sanctuary is provided by Janelle Helling, (aka Konchog Pema Khandro.) Pieces seen here have been collected over many years, from Tibet, India, Bhutan and Thailand. Framed prints are reproduced from Asian originals and from the Lama’s posts on Facebook.
Ruth Zachary is leading a writing group The Last Friday of the Month from 3 pm - 5pm. We may reschedule regular meeting dates and times in the future. Please bring a one page sample of your writing. Writers may opt for peer response from others by bringing extra copies or simply reading your selection to the group. There may be a variety of types of writing such as essays, short stories, poetry, etc. Writing exercises may be suggested by members for future dates. Equal times for participation may be discussed if larger selections are in abundance. Call Ruth Zachary at 970-378-0876 for information or to join the group.

Worship This Week
Sunday, February 3rd – “Life Calls Us On” – Rev. Dana Lightsey
Sometimes it is easier to identify broken trust and more elusive to put our finger on what we truly can trust. Change is something we can trust will come. Can we trust that the "Arc of the moral universe bends towards justice" as the famous quote from Theodore Parker asserts? It only bends if we make it so. This service is a story of the Czech Unitarians and how they continue to bend that arc as they build a new religious movement after decades under communist rule. This story also features one of your former ministers, Rev. Dr. Petr (Dolak) Samojsky.
