What's happening at the UUCG? July 19th - July 25th Thursday July 20th - WILPF Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom will be meeting at 11:30a - 1:00p at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley 929 15th St. Students from local schools ranging in grades from 4th through 8th will perform in preparation for the coming High Plains Chautauqua event in Greeley August 1- 5. Elaine Schmidt, Chairperson of WILPF will be honored at this meeting for her 44 years. Thursday July 20th- BOOK CLUB The Book Club meets on the third Thursday of the month at 1pm at Your Place Coffee, 2308 W. 17th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. The selection for July 20 will be Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle. Anyone is welcome to drop in. Thursday July 20th - Unifax Submissions Due Sunday July 23rd –"Irony of Kindness" Julie Miller People who may be thought of as kind, are sometimes considered to be submissive or weak. Acts of kindness have come to be suspect due to an individual’s motive of recognition. In the message we examine the power of kindness and its effects on our everyday lives. RE: Fun Shop Tuesday July 25th- 4th Tuesday Meditation Come to UUCG on the 4th Tuesday at noon for a lunchtime meditation. For the summer at least we will meet 1 time a month. In the fall we may choose to meet more often. Led by Hollis Berendt Tuesday July 25th- Spiritual Stimulation & Support Group continues to meet from 7:00 to 8:00pm in the church sanctuary for sharing and caring. Each night is a stand-alone event where anyone is welcome to join, even if you are only available for the one single evening. Other News and Reminders Raspberry Picking Time Everyone is welcome to come pick raspberries at Tim and Hollis Berendts' house. The whole north side of our home is filled with raspberries. We don't need to be home, come whenever you want, morning is best because of the heat. Raspberries have prickers, so wear long sleeves and pants. Enjoy. Then take it to the store and load it up with any amount you want $25... $31.. $74..etc (whatever amount) and the UUCG will receive 5% back every time you reload. Reload before you purchase your items, simply hand your card with cash, check, debit or credit card to the cashier and tell them how much you would like on your card. There are no strings attached. You can still get the specials and can use coupons. And UUCG will get 5% of what you buy! IT'S THAT EASY... We will continue selling Sprouts and Safeway cards in $100 form. UUCC Cheyenne Frontier Days Camping We at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Cheyenne would like to offer our front range churches a first chance at our camping lot! UUCC will be offering dry RV camping in our parking lot just off Pioneer Ave. during Cheyenne Frontier Days July 19th to August 1st. There will be nine spots available for $45 per night for RVs that are 20 feet or less and one dollar additional for each foot over 20 cash only. There are no facilities, no dumping, no fires, and no grilling allowed. There will be a port-a-potty on site starting July 19th. If you know of people looking for camping space let them know about UUCC here in Cheyenne. UUCC is less than 10 blocks from the Parade routes and Frontier Park and we are in a nice quiet residential location.
