June 25th-July 1st, 2019 Worship this week Sunday, June 30th, 2019 Rebirth of a Nation-Rev. Aaron Norris "As we finish out our exploration of “country” this week, Rev. Norris will continue his exploration on the idea that nations are often a series of conflicting and complementary stories. On the eve of the Fourth of July, he will especially look at the exceptionalism story Americans often tell and share a few things he thought about as he drove over the landscape to General Assembly in Spokane earlier this month." Community Events this Week Pathways to Meaning & Membership Class This class is designed to go over some of the basic history of Unitarian Universalism. It also helps you to better understand our congregation and see how you my deepen your involvement. It also is a great opportunity to meet others who are new to our church as well, but also have an interest in becoming more involved. While it is not required for membership, I highly recommend that you participate in this class as a first step to considering membership. The class is offered about once every six weeks or so and taught by our minister, Reverend Aaron Norris. The class takes about 90 minutes and follows a service. Class Dates are as Follows: June 30th, 2019 and August 11th, 2019. Please consider buying Sprouts cards, Village Inn cards, Walmart, Target... The list is long. Order sheets are available on the bulletin board. June Auction Item Would you like to spend a night in a mountain cabin? The June Auction Item is for three spots at a mountain cabin, stream side! The night includes: a comfortable bed, a vegan dinner, a light breakfast, a quiet stream and good company. A total of four people will be going. You only need to bring yourself, snacks and beverages. The date is August 16th or 17th: whichever works best for all participants. Opening bid is $50.00 per spot.Congratulations to Janelle Helling who won the May Auction item of Sharlene Meydell's sewing! Later This Month Buddhist and Meditation Classes Held at Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley, 929 15th St, Greeley, CO 80631 the Second Tuesday of each month from 1:30-3 pm Classes: July 9, August 13, September 9, October 6, November 12. Worship Committee Brian & Shelly Gaza will be stepping down as co-chairs of The Worship Associates. Their last meeting will be August 11th, 2019. Other News and Reminders Can you dig it ? Free for the taking! Strawberry plants, raspberry bushes, garlic and oregano from our garden. You can dig what you'd like, or if you're physically unable to dig, Tim will dig it for you. Text Hollis at 970-590-3289 Clothing Drive The Social Justice Ministry will begin a clothing drive starting in July through the end of September, 2019. Please donate clean and wearable items. We except all types of clothing for all ages to be donated to the Greeley Interfaith Clothing Bank. We are also looking for business attire for women including, dresses, suits, slacks, shoes, purses and jewelry to donate to Leanna’s Closet. Please bring your items to church and deposit in the box provided. Thank you for you generous donations.
