What's happening at the UUCG?

Garage Sale -Saturday, June 1st- 8am- 2pm.
Please bring your stuff for the Sale on Thursday, from Noon- 5pm. Or on Friday, starting at 9 am till 5pm. If you need to drop off at other times,please call Kathy Vaughn at 970- 371-1522.We need workers before the Sale to arrange the items. Please just drop by Thursday or Friday, whenever you can. We especially need workers the day of the sale, call Kathy to get on the schedule for a two hour block.


Coffee / Clean up Help
We are in need of help, for he following dates: June 9th, 16, 23 and the 30th. Please sign up on the clipboard to make coffee or clean up after service, Thank you!
  

Worship Committee
Next Meeting is June 9th after the service from 11:15a - 12:15p.  Worship Associates are needed for June 16th and June 30th services, Rev. Aaron is the speaker on both dates. If you are interested in helping with the service, by being a Worship Associate on either or both dates please let Shelly, or Brian know. Also, as a heads-up for July, we are in need of guest officiants! So if you have any ideas for people to invite, please us know! Thank you!

June Auction Item
Would you like to spend a night in a mountain cabin? The June Auction Item is for three spots at a mountain cabin, stream side! The night includes: a comfortable bed, a vegan dinner, a light breakfast, a quiet stream and good company. A total of four people will be going. You only need to bring yourself, snacks and beverages. The date is August 16th or 17th: whichever works best for all participants. Opening bid is $50.00 per spot.Congratulations to Janelle Helling who won the May Auction item of Sharlene Meydell's sewing!

Walk-A-Bout Announcement
Please join us on a Walk-A-Bout lead by Sharlene Meydell & Jane Wheeler. If interested please be ready to meet at the Park or cemetery by 10am. These will be gentle walks. Dates are as follows:
June 19, 2019, Linn Grove Cemetery, East 18th Street / Cherry St.  South entrance to the cemetery and pull straight in --- parking near the main bldg.  Pond in the back of this bldg, has 2 white swans.  
Following our walk, we can go for lunch Subway 10th St/ 28th Ave.  and / or ice cream at TCBY (47th Ave and Hwy By-pass 34) (Wednesday is free cone day) yummy!

Other News and Reminders

Pathways to Meaning & Membership Class
This class is designed to go over some of the basic history of Unitarian Universalism. It also helps you to better understand our congregation and see how you my deepen your involvement. It also is a great opportunity to meet others who are new to our church as well, but also have an interest in becoming more involved. While it is not required for membership, I highly recommend that you participate in this class as a first step to considering membership. The class is offered about once every six weeks or so and taught by our minister, Reverend Aaron Norris. The class takes about 90 minutes and follows a service. Class Dates are as Follows: June 30th, 2019 and August 11th, 2019. Please follow copy this link and paste to your browser to sign up:

 Social Justice Group
Social Justice Ministry meetings will be held on the third Monday of the month at 11:00 am.  The next meeting is June 17.  Please come and help plan our future projects.Thanks,

Looking for way to contribute to UUCG on Sundays?
You don't have to speak in public or have the best voice in the world, as there are a number of ways in which you can help Unitarian Universaist Church of Greeley on Sundays.  

• Bring a snack for coffee/volunteer - Our volunteers not only make the coffee but they often donate their own dollars for snacks for coffee.  Your $$ donation for coffee time or snack donation can help offset those costs for our Coffee Hour volunteers.  You can also volunteer to make coffee and help with clean-up.  Talk to Margaret and she will get you connected.

• Offer to shovel the sidewalks when it snows - Just contact Julie Miller to help with the task.  The more, the merrier and it will get done quickly.  Shovels and snow remover are readily available at the church.
• Greet / Host - A warm smile and a "hello" are a wonderful start to any Sunday morning.  Bulletins are printed and waiting.  You help us take a tally on attendance and make sure our guests are contacted by board members or our minister.
• Help with our AV team - We can always use some extra hands running our AV equipment - microphones, slideshows, videos & training is provided.  Volunteers often are scheduled 1 time or less per month, based on availability.

• Special Music - Do you have some musical talent you would like to share?  Please consider sharing it with us.    It's always a treat to recognize our member's talents.
