What's happening at the UUCG?
May 8th - May 14th, 2018 Social Justice Circle Social Justice Circle is Cancelled Today, Tuesday May 8th and be rescheduled for Next Tuesday May 15th, 2018 @ 9:30am. We are still collecting Non-Perishable, easy to carry, snack foods for the homeless, Thank you for your continued contributions! We will continue to meet in the future on the 2nd Tuesday of The month at 9:30am. Thank YOU Iglesia Apostolica and UU! We had PERFECT weather and GREAT help! Thanks to our renters Iglesia Apostolica and Dennis Francen, Jim Shearer, Kathy Wise, Karen Clugston, The Vaughn's, Julie Miller, The Chiniquy's, Keila Cason, Deandra Eubanks, and Kristina Bain for all your time put into the inside and outside of our church! Sunday, May 13th- “Are You My Mother?” Julie Miller We examine our own definitions of mothering and come together to honor someone who may have played that role in our lives. Often, our definitions have been formed from experiences with our own parents, communities, and culture. Some small group discussion time will allow participants to share their stories. Participants are encouraged to bring photos of whom they may want to honor on this day as we celebrate what mothering may mean to each of us. RE: Principal #5 Yertle The Turtle Choir Choir practices the 1st and 2nd Sundays of Every Month, after service, and perform on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Next Practice: May 13th after the service. If you enjoy singing, or want to try something new, please feel free to join. Thank you! Sam Henline, UUCG Accompanist. Time Sheets Due May 15th, 2018. Garage Sale Please plan to bring your Donated items with suggested price on them starting on Wednesday May 16th by appointment only, and Thursday May 17th at 10 am- 5 pm. Please price your items if you are able to. Call Kathy Vaughn 970 371-1522 to make arrangements to drop things off at a different time. We will have a Members Only sale on Friday night 7-8 pm. Please sign up to help out getting things set-up or to help at the Sale. See the Clip Board. The Book Club The Book Club meets on the third Thursday of the month at 1pm at Your Place Coffee. The selection for May 17 will be Kate Anderson Brower's First Women (2016). Anyone is welcome to drop in. Annual Congregational Meeting Please do plan on attending The Annual Congregational Meeting that will be held May 20th, 2018 after our usual morning service. We will be voting on the Budget and the board of Directors. Members and friends are strongly encouraged to attend and please bring a side dish. Come hungry and ready to work.The challenges have been many, but we are so very thankful for your generous contributions of time, talent, energy, and financial resources! Other News and Reminders FREE Piano The UUCG Is giving away a piano, If you know someone who is interested and can pick up and move out, please have them contact Margaret in the office! Sunday Coffee Volunteers needed! Please help! If you have one or two Sundays available between now and the end of April. Training Provided, If you are willing and able, give Dianne Culver a call at 970-378-7544. Recycle Have you Noticed Our (2) Blue Recycling Bins in the Church? One is located by the North Entrance under our information station. The Other is located in the Barbara Bowles Room by the East entrance. Worship Committee The Worship Committee is busy making plans for summer services and we need YOU! If you are able to lend a hand this summer (either in planning services or leading them), please email the committee co-chairs and let us know: Brian Gaza (briangaza@mac.com) and Shelly Gaza (shelly.gaza@unco.edu).
