What's happening at the UUCG? Nov. 28th - Dec. 4th, 2017
Tuesday Nov. 28th- Spirituality & Support Group ALL Are Welcome! This Tuesday at 7 pm we will talk about the Sexuality Curriculum developed by us Unitarian Universalist. Starting with "About Your Sexuality" in the 70's to our current Curriculum, "OWL, Our Whole Lives" Kathy Vaughn, an OWL teacher will discuss the history and current curriculum.Ideas for topics for this Class are always welcome! Saturday, December 2nd - Clean-up Day / Winterize From 9 am- Noon. Come and help winterize and spruce up the building for the Holidays. Have some coffee and donuts. We need to put up the storm windows, replace some bulbs, and fix up a few pews. An hour or two of your time would be most helpful. Sunday December 3rd- “The Power of Hope.” Rev. Barry Bloom In the depths of WWII, when we were losing, and the casualty lists were staggering, in the millions worldwide, there was a smothering darkness that filled the home countries of the Allies. Then, the tide turned. Hope returned. Such has it been throughout history. Ebb and flow. Up and down. But, here we are. And will remain. We will explore the power of hope and its capacity to transform us for the better once again. R.E: Chapel On Hope Winter Social / Potluck and Survey Results We will be having a Winter Social on December 3rd at 11:30 AM following the service. Please bring one of your favorite dishes to share. It will be a time to talk, chat, huddle, and discover what our wishes are for a new minister. Julie Miller will also reveal a short video that she created for our website. Please come join us! If you have transportation issues, please let Julie know by Friday, December 1st. We will be watching for you! Choir Blurb Choir rehearsal will meet after church this Sunday after the service. We meet on the first and second Sundays of each month in the sanctuary after services. We look forward to hearing your lovely voices! Other News and Reminders From your Board President Re: Space Availability: Hello all! I would like to make you aware of the church's availability on Sundays, after our usual 10:00 AM service. Our renters will now be starting their services at 4:00 PM each Sunday. The church will have availability for meetings / classes / events typically from 11:30 or 12:00 pm for church activities until approximately 3:30 PM - at the latest. Of course, we will have inquiries from occasional renters, but consider making your meeting after our service. The congregants are already here. You have the space. You STILL need to check with Margaret on availability, but please consider using the space. You may want to consider bringing something to eat for lunch to help tide you over for your meeting or activity. Do keep in mind that the thirdSunday of the month, from 11:30 until usually 1:00 PM, you will find your Board of Trustees at work in the RE room. If you have a piece of art you would like to hang, bring it to the UUCG between the hours of 9am to Noon. The Social Justice Circle The Social Justice Circle Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the Month. Next Meeting is December 12th, 2017 at 9:30am.
