 Choir Retreat

The music retreat is on October 26th and all are welcome! Please join us for music and a potluck from Noon-3pm.


Samhain Event 

October 26th from 3:30pm-5pm: Samhain is a Garlic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the begining of winter or the "darker half" or the year. Our Pagan group will host a gathering to mark the seasonal holiday. Everyone is welcome! Bring a snack to share.

 Dia Los Muertos/All Souls Reminder

As we prepare for our Dia Los Muertos and All Souls observance next month please remember to send those names, information and pictures of those who have departed in the last 12 months so that they can be recognized in our slide show during the service. If possible, please get the information to Rev. Norris by October 27.

Walk and Talks (Monday October 28th; 12-1 p.m.) 

All are welcome to join Rev. Norris on monthly theological walks the fourth Monday of every month at 12:00 p.m. The walks will be a combination of historical tour, Socratic dialogue, walking meditation, and community building. Each walk will be about an hour. The topic of the walk will take into account the route chosen. In October our theme is peace and we will be walking through Bittersweet Park. You are invited to meet at the mortal at noon or arrive at the church at 11:40 to join him before he leaves for the walk.

Pathways to Meaning & Membership Class

This class is designed to go over some of the basic history of Unitarian Universalism. It also helps you to better understand our congregation and see how you my deepen your involvement. It also is a great opportunity to meet others who are new to our church as well, but also have an interest in becoming more involved. While it is not required for membership, I highly recommend that you participate in this class as a first step to considering membership. The class is offered about once every six weeks or so and taught by our minister, Reverend Aaron Norris. The class takes about 90 minutes and are at noon on select Sundays. The next class date is November 3rd. If you're interested in attending, please RSVP to Rev. Aaron or follow this link. 

 
Social Justice in November

Social Justice Ministry meetings are held the third Monday of the month at 11:00 am. The next meeting is November 18th. If you are interested, but cannot come at that time, please contact Hollis at 970-590-3289.  Food Drive

Please bring non perishable foods  to church to distribute to the Weld Food Bank.  Most needed items are peanut butter, tuna fish, beans, pasta, rice, canned fruits and vegetables.  Please do not donate expired cans or boxes as they will be thrown out.

 Script

An order will be placed on November 10th for gift cards available through Scrip. A percentage of the cards is donated to our church with each purchase. There are order forms available on the bulletin board and additional possibilities are available at shopwithscrip.com. See Josette Bond if you have any questions.

We need hosts on Sunday mornings and sign changers every two weeks in the beginning of the week.

 Looking for way to contribute to UUCG on Sundays?
You don't have to speak in public or have the best voice in the world, as there are a number of ways in which you can help Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley on Sundays.  

• Bring a snack for coffee/volunteer - Our volunteers not only make the coffee but they often donate their own dollars for snacks for coffee. Your $$ donation for coffee time or snack donation can help offset those costs for our Coffee Hour volunteers.  You can also volunteer to make coffee and help with clean-up. Talk to Michele and she will get you connected.

• Offer to shovel the sidewalks when it snows - Just contact Julie Miller to help with the task. The more, the merrier and it will get done quickly.  Shovels and snow remover are readily available at the church.
• Greet / Host - A warm smile and a "hello" are a wonderful start to any Sunday morning. Bulletins are printed and waiting. You help us take a tally on attendance and make sure our guests are contacted by board members or our minister.
• Help with our AV team - We can always use some extra hands running our AV equipment - microphones, slideshows, videos & training is provided.  Volunteers often are scheduled 1 time or less per month, based on availability.

• Special Music - Do you have some musical talent you would like to share?  Please consider sharing it with us. It's always a treat to recognize our member's talents.
