Tuesday October 31st- Halloween Wednesday November 1st -Your Opinion Matters - Cottage Meetings Ministerial Search: Please plan on attending one of the following Cottage Meetings to discuss what attributes you might be looking for in our new minister and how we can describe out congregation to potential candidates. If you are unable to attend, printed surveys will be made available in the foyer beginning Sunday, October 29th through Sunday, November 12th. All surveys should be completed by 4 PM on 12Nov2017. Theatre News Shelly Gaza is directing the play Legacy of Light that will run November 2 – 12 in the Norton Theatre on UNC’s campus. This dramatic comedy by Karen Zacarias explores themes of parenthood, science, and love – right up our UU alley! Friday November 3rd - Front Range UU 9th Grade Overnight Trip Meeting 7:30pm till Sunday, November 5th at 10am. Sunday November 5th– “Being Happy” Rev. Barry Bloom When asked in surveys about life values and priorities the consistent number one answer is “to be happy.” In recent years, the focus of research has changed. Instead of studying what makes us depressed, researchers are studying what makes us happy? In this service we will explore together what works, and what doesn’t seem to work, for us to “be happy" despite the many challenges of life. (Our Universalist ancestors knew this too!) RE: Class Yom Kippur #6 Sunday November 5th - Worship Associates Meeting After a few little fits and starts, we are excited to officially begin our worship committee meetings for this year on Sunday, November 5th at 11:30am! Brian and I are really looking forward to working with you all as co-chairs of the committee, and very grateful for all the support and encouragement we’ve been receiving from so many of you. Thank you for making us feel welcome at UUCG, and for sharing your experience and expertise as we learn the ins and outs of worship planning. We’re looking forward to meeting with you on November 5th after the service, and the first Sunday of each month after that. Also, if any of your friends or family members are interested in being involved as a Worship Associate as well, bring them along! We will now be practicing after church on the first and second Sundays of each month after the service. Thank you! Sam Henline From your Board President Re: Space Availability: Hello all! I would like to make you aware of the church's availability on Sundays, after our usual 10:00 AM service. Our renters will now be starting their services at 4:00 PM each Sunday. The church will have availability for meetings / classes / events typically from 11:30 or 12:00 pm for church activities until approximately 3:30 PM - at the latest. Of course, we will have inquiries from occasional renters, but consider making your meeting after our service. The congregants are already here. You have the space. You STILL need to check with Margaret on availability, but please consider using the space. You may want to consider bringing something to eat for lunch to help tide you over for your meeting or activity. Do keep in mind that the third Sunday of the month, from 11:30 until usually 1:00 PM, you will find your Board of Trustees at work in the RE room.
