What's happening at the UUCG?
Sept. 25th - Oct. 2nd, 2018 Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 - Weld County Disability Forum At The Greeley Recreation Center at 4pm. Wednesday, September 27th, 2018 - Local Candidates Forum at Aims Community College at 6:30 pm. Support for Women Please come to Cory Gardner's office at 801 8th Street, Suite 140A Greeley onThursday September 27 at 3 pm, to educate our Senator about why people do not report sexual abuse, harassment and rape. I believe that every woman has a story to tell that they've kept to themselves. (#whyIdidn'treport). This is a national effort supported by the Women's March in support of Christine Blasey Ford. I've contacted the Senator's office and don't know if we'll actually have an appointment with his legislative assistant or not. If we cannot get in the office at that time, we can support each other by listening to each other's stories and then phone or email the Senator's offices with our stories. We'll take a photo to share with the Senator. Please invite all women you know to attend. If people cannot make it to Cory Gardner's at that time, please contact his office with your story. The event, "Spotlight: Burma," is a refugee resettlement simulation whereby participants learn about the stories of displacement from Burma and the journeys to the United States undertaken by real survivors. Participants learn these stories through (safely) reenacting those stories themselves. Tickets for the event are available for purchase on our website here.https://www.ircnoco.org/awits2018 Sunday, September 30th – “Tempting Fates: Siren Songs and Calls of Cthulhu” Rev. Aaron Norris After a month of exploring how we are called and to what we are called, Rev. Norris will explore with us those things in life which mimic callings but come up short in the final analysis. With references to mythologies both ancient and modern, we will look at the shadow side of a greater-than-ourselves calling that leads us not to a greater self, but a diminishment. Rev. Norris will give his thoughts on where the difference might lie and how a responsible search for truth and meaning might help us to make a conscious choice.
