Currency of Love - Rev. Kelly Dignan

Rev. Kelly explored how money becomes a currency of love when we give it in alignment with our values and out of sufficiency (not scarcity or abundance mentalities).  She articulated our church mission and vision and reminded us of the importance of a Unitarian Universalist presence in Greeley.  “Money flows through all our lives, sometimes like a rushing river, sometimes like a trickle. When it is flowing, it can purify, cleanse, create growth and nourish. Like water, money is a carrier. It can carry possibility, and intention or it can carry control, domination and guilt. It can be a current or currency of love—a conduit for commitment—or a carrier of hurt or harm,” Lynn Twist, the Soul of Money.  Together at UUCG, let's make money a currency of love and a conduit for commitment to our faith and loving, just Greeley.

A beautiful, moving, articulate and meaningful sermon delivered with such emotional tenderness and honestly. Thank you, most revered Kelly, for sharing the common worries we fallible humans all deal with, and giving voice for unspoken uncertainties... Thank you for all the obvious meticulous research and loving work you put into your sermons that always move and inspire. Thank you for remembering the First Nations People who lived respectfully with the land that Chief Seattle spoke of so eloquently in his Treaty Speech, and that has been echoed by David Susuki's 1992 Declaration of Interdependence to the UN Conference on the Environment in Rio... and that NASA's James Hanson's science validates. Thank you for acknowledging the people who treated this land as Sacred as the Garden of Eden. They are still wearing for Her demise... Mother Earth. And the Father Sky who embraces the Mother, whose protection has been compromised by the holes in His Embrace... so that all the Children of Mother Earth are suffering. Thank you for your healing words for all beings... Many Blessings upon you and your healing work.
